Advantage of the Trapbar compared to the normal barbell
The trapbar deadlift is technically easier. This makes the exercise perfect for beginners, the elderly, or athletes fighting back from an injury. The neutral and slightly elevated grip and the fact that you’re standing squarely between the weight plates makes it easier to maintain clean positions. In addition, you can adopt a more upright posture than with the classic deadlift with the barbell, which means less strain on the back (intervertebral discs).
What exercises can you do with the trapbar?
Probably the most common exercise will be the trapbar deadlift. Farmer carry – carrying the trapbar over a distance – is also a great exercise. The open design of the Trapbar also makes it possible to do lunges or barbell rows with the bar in a neutral grip. This is not possible with classic closed hex bars.
Easy loading and unloading of the trapbar
The trapbar’s open design makes loading and unloading the weight plates super easy. When you put them on their feet, the disc supports are raised so that you can easily attach the weight discs without resistance. In addition, the Trapbar can be set up and stowed away to save space.
